Heinz 57 Sauce – Birthday Cake – Pebble Beach, CA

Do you watch the Food Network?

Have you ever seen the show “Private Chefs of Beverly Hills”?  Well, I’m in love with it.  It’s set to record every single new episode on my DVR.  The chefs on the show work for a company called Big City Chefs.

I was ecstatic when I was contacted by Big City Chefs to make a cake for one of their clients.  The client was having a 57th birthday party for his wife and had a “Heinz 57 Sauce” theme, so he wanted a cake that looked like a Heinz 57 bottle.  I am thrilled with how the cake turned out and am so grateful for the opportunity to work with Big City Chefs (Chef Derek Chance was the Private Chef for the party)!

Cake:  Vanilla

Icing:  French Buttercream

Covering:  Fondant

Petite and Dainty Yellow Swirls – Birthday Cake

miriya-bday-cake

This cake was made for sweet Miraya, (remember, Sylvia’s daughter) for her birthday.  Sylvia left the design up to me and as I  immediately thought of this.  Miraya is such a gorgeous person, on the inside and out.  She is so nice and sweet and I am so blessed to know her and her family.  I wanted her birthday cake to reflect how I see her as a person, dainty and pretty.  :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIRAYA!

Cake:  Vanilla Pound Cake

Icing:  Buttercream with fresh strawberries placed on top

Covering:  Buttcream with whimsical piping detail, fondant ribbon and a sugar rose.

Peanut Butter Fudge – Birthday Cupcakes

birthday-peanutbutter-fudge-cupcakes

I had another birthday.  I’m another year older and wiser.  And, it just so happens that my MIL’s birthday is on the same day as mine.  That’s right, we’re birthday twins, awwww.  And my husband’s dad’s birthday is the day after.  Needless to say, while I L-O-V-E the month of May, my husband dreads it.  To celebrate the occassion, I made cupcakes.  And displayed them on one of my killer new cupcake stands.  And baked them in happy bright neon colored paper.  I knew that they would turn out yummy- but I was unprepared for the kind of fireworks that happened in my mouth while eating them.

Holy hello.

They were UN-believeably good.  My husband couldn’t stop eating them.  They melted in your mouth.

YUMMMMM.

Gambling Cake

Richard called me at the beginning of the week to see if I was available to make a cake for his wife’s birthday.  They had seen my work from Sylvia’s parties and loved it!  I’m so grateful to Sylvia for the referral.  They were the best delivery ever.  His wife’s jaw dropped when she saw the cake and she just kept asking, “How did you know?”  Little did she know her sweet hubby had told me she really liked gambling.  Especially slot machines and cards.

Loved working with them and can’t wait to make more cakes for them in the future!!!

Garden Cake

This was made as a birthday suprise for Lynn’s mom.  She didn’t want her mom to see it at all so she picked it up at 7 a.m:)

I made the bottom tier resemble dirt layers with the plant roots going down into the ground.  The top tier is the garden plants.  I wanted it to look more like a painting with softer lines so I hand painted the bottom tier and piped the top, going over it with a paintbrush to smooth out the lines.

I love how earthy it is.

Cake:  Pineapple

Icing:  Vanilla

Dirt Crumbs:  Homemade oreos overdone and crushed up
