Spongebob Squarepants – Favors

spongebob-cookie-favor

Does the theme song to Spongebob pop into your head every time you hear his name?  Because it does in mine.  Perhaps that’s because Spongebob plays non-stop around these parts.  It’s safe to say that my son is his number one fan.  I mentioned awhile back about making him a Spongebob cake for his birthday, and since then he’s been talking about it non-stop.  “Momma, you make-a-me my Pongebob cake?”  His birthday isn’t until the end of June and he’s been saying it for about 3 months now.  That kid and his memory….if only mine was still in tact like that.  :)

I made these cookies for Chase and Bernie’s wedding, so they could hand them out as favors to the little ring bearers.  Since Caden was a ring bearer, he got them and loved them.  He also got this killer shirt that says “Ring Security”.  It is darling.

Hello Kitty Cookies – Favors

hello-kitty-cookie-favors

Our dear friends Chase and Bernie got married this past weekend.  On one of our dinner/lunch dates prior to the wedding Bernie had asked if I had any ideas for favors that she could give her little flower girls.  Of course any idea I have is baking related, so I suggest cookies!  Her little niece Evalyn is going thru a “Hello Kitty” infatuation phase and Bernie thought she’d love Hello Kitty on her cookies.

They turned out A-DOR-ABLE!

Pharmacy School Graduation Cupcakes

Dr. Travis Rose.

That is now Amy’s husbands official title.

He graduated from Pharmacy school this past weekend and in order to celebrate the occassion, they were throwing a brunch and no brunch is complete without cupcakes for dessert!  Amy and I threw a few ideas around and decided on making a grad cap, diploma, pills and RX pad for the cupcake toppers.  She was so great to work with and it was fun to see the table come together!

Congratulations to you both!!!  If I ever need pills…..LOL.  I kid, I kid.

Cupcakes:  Chocolate and Strawberry

Icing:  Standard Buttercream

Toppers:  Diploma and grad cap- paper; pills – fondant with the words impressed; RX pad- fondant with edible ink prescription

There are also cookie bags for the kiddos- I did them in a surf/beach theme.  They are M&M/chocolate chip cookies with a surfboard nametag.

Happy Mother’s Day 2010

When it comes to family gift giving, I am the queen of lateness.  I never think of anything until the day has come and then I think, oh, it’s too late.  Not so this year, not so.  I was ON IT for Mother’s Day.  Okaaaay, so maybe I was scrambling to get the packages finalized and to the post office before the priority mail cutoff…but still, I got there and that’s all that counts!

We wanted to do something special for our mom’s that involved the boys- so my husband mentioned using handprints.  I worked with that and this is what we came up with.  For my mom, I used my hand in pink (of course) and then Caden’s is on top of mine with Jace’s on top of his.  I tied little bows to each of our fingers symbolizing the tying of a string on your finger to “forget-me-knot”.  It’s something my grandpa always used to say to us and it comes to mind everytime I hear and/or say “Don’t forget!”

For the MIL, hubby did his hand with blue and criss crossed Caden and Jace’s hands in the black and white.  The boys adore her and I accented it with a black polka dot ribbon with a simple bow.  She called and said she got it today and cried.  Lol.  Mission accomplished.

Of course we had to pack goodies- and I made my $250 dollar cookie recipe…altered a little.  I guess they aren’t really $250 cookies then…more like chocolate chip cookies with walnut peices.  I got the tags as a FREE printable from The TomKat Studio.  Aren’t they adorable?

Happy Mother’s Day!  Being a mom is one of the greatest, albeit challenging, experiences I’ve had in my life.  I love my mom and MIL and am grateful to have such wonderful mom examples in my life!  You’re the best!

Mini Oreo Cupcakes Bites

My almost 3 year old son is getting to the age where daily activities are a must if we want to avoid several meltdowns.  This particular day I promised him he could “go WILD” with mommy’s sprinkles.  He was beyond excited and kept talking about it ALL day!  Both sprinkles containers were dumped out completely and thrown to the side in 10 seconds flat.

He was a happy boy and I was a happy momma.

Mini Cupcakes:  Made with homemade oreo dough

Icing:  Buttercream tinted pink/purple and covered in sprinkles
